Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 2026
note a mess is a note-taking app designed with privacy at its core.
Data stored on your device
All your notes, categories, settings, and preferences are stored locally on your device only. We do not have access to your notes and cannot read them.
AI features
When you use the Organize feature, the text of your note is sent to our backend (hosted on Cloudflare Workers), which forwards it to the Claude API by Anthropic for processing. This happens only when you explicitly tap "Organize" or enable Auto-organize.
- We do not store your note content on our servers
- The request is processed and the result is returned immediately
- Please refer to Anthropic's Privacy Policy for how they handle API requests
Biometric authentication
When you lock a note with Face ID or Touch ID, biometric authentication is handled entirely by iOS. We never have access to your biometric data.
Analytics and tracking
We do not use any analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. We do not collect device identifiers, usage statistics, or crash reports.
No account required
note a mess does not require you to create an account. We do not collect your name, email address, or any other personal information.
Children's privacy
note a mess is rated 4+ and does not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and release a new version of the app.
